FRIENDS School recently took part in
the 'Cavan Crystal/Windows Publications 16th Annual
Student Poetry Competition.'
There were over 1,400 entries from
all over Ireland and Michael Wilkinson's poem 'Babel'
was the prize winning entry in the senior category while
Matthew Patterson of Year 10 and Brendan Corr of year 9
both collected highly commended certificates in their
age group.
Michael, a year 14 pupil, was awarded
a cash prize along with a Cavan Crystal goblet. His poem
has been published as part of a series of posters
highlighting the winning entries.
