'WITH a bit of Luck' and 'Get Me to the
Church on Time' are just some of the songs that you can hear at
Friends' School production of 'My Fair Lady.'
There will be five evening performances from
Tuesday, November 25 to Saturday, November 29 at 7.30pm, and a
Saturday matinee performance at 2pm, and according to Principal
Elizabeth Dickson, it is a show not to be missed.
Speaking about the production, Mrs Dickson
said, "Excitement has been mounting since auditions were held
last May and, over the months, as the production has come
together, there has been a real sense of teamwork and
camaraderie amongst all those taking part, both pupils and staff
onstage and behind the scenes."
'My Fair Lady', has been a firm favourite
with audiences around the world for over 50 years. This
production is produced and directed by Ashley Fulton who has
worked professionally in music theatre and singing for the past
10 years as an award winning performer, vocal coach, director
and musical director. Choreographer is Aaron Jones who created
new original movement, many styles of dance together to give the
production a more contemporary feel.
Speaking about the show, Ashley commented:
"Directing and producing a classic musical is something I always
see as a real challenge. I want to give it a sense of uniqueness
making it look and sound different.
"This production will have a new image thanks
to exciting new costumes and a purpose built set."
