(chairman) George Megarry (treasurer)
Miriam Ward (committee member) and Evie
McCartan, preparing for the forthcoming
Ladies Tractor Road Run and BBQ.
ANY ladies who can drive a tractor are urged to sign up to a
charity fundraiser in memory of a local lady who passed away
last year following a courageous battle against ovarian cancer.
Friends and family of the late Mrs Helen Megarry, a wife and
mother from Hillsborough, are organising a Ladies Tractor Road
Run, on Friday June 13. The ladies will drive round the
beautiful countryside of Hillsborough and Dromore and then back
for a BBQ and Social, where everyone is welcome. Helen Coulter,
a friend of the late Mrs Megarry encourages any female with
access to tractor to join the fun. She said: "We decided to
organise some kind of fundraiser event and the money will go to
'Angels of Hope', (www.angelsofhope.org.uk)
a charity based in Northern Ireland, whose aims are to raise
awareness of ovarian cancer and improve knowledge amongst the
general public and the medical profession, fund vital research,
and to link sufferers, survivors and families. "We are delighted
to be able to do something for such a worthy cause and Helen's
family are pleased we are doing this. I am proud to be doing
this in memory of Helen.
"It should be a good night and already we have sponsors for
desserts, which is a great help."
For further information, entry forms and tickets for the BBQ
and Social please contact Helen Coulter on 9269 9295 or
