TWO
local woman, Susan Maguire from Lisburn and Colleen Clarke from
Dromore have set off on a life changing challenge to trek the
Alantic Rainforest of Brazil in aid of Action Cancer. The two
fundraisers joined eight other trekkers who have all raised
vital funds for the charity and have trained for a year to
participate on Trek Brazil.
The challenge will take them through the
Serrs de Bocaina National Park, which is known for its
spectacular rainforest and undulating terrain. The team will
follow the path of the famous 'Gold Trail ' and experience
beautiful waterfalls, natural swimming pools and magnificent
views. The Trek ends in Rio de Janeiro.
Participate
Events & PR officer, Kerry Boyd,
explained: "People participate in Action Cancer treks for a
number of reasons whether they have been affected by cancer
themselves or know someone close to them who have been
diagnosed, everyone has the same determination and dedication to
raise vitals funds for the charity.
"All trekers know that the money they raise
will remain within Northern Ireland helping people within their
own community so Trek brazil is a chance for people
to do something positive and help save lives
from cancer. I would like to thank Susan and Colleen.
