EVERY
CUP will count at this year's World's Biggest Coffee Morning on
Friday 26th September and the Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor
Ronnie Crawford and Emma Rea from Macmillan Cancer Support are
urging everyone to better last year's two million strong
fundraisers who stirred themselves into action and took part in
the fun by hosting or attending coffee events across the UK.
Altogether they raised a staggering 7.9 million and in Northern
Ireland alone over 30,000 people raised an incredible 200,000
to support people living with cancer in their local area.
Mr Crawford said "I would ask everyone in
Lisburn and surrounding area to support this very important
fundraising event. What could be simpler than boiling the
kettle? Everyone should get involved it's easy. However much you
raise, whether it is 10, 20 or 200, Macmillan needs your
support, my support, everyone's support more than ever."
All money raised last year helped Macmillan
be a source of practical, medical, emotional and financial
support to those affected by cancer. So every cup of coffee on
26 September really does count and every 1 raised can really
make a difference to help people through their cancer journey.
