After a damp start, members of the Apprentice Boys
organisations in the Lisburn area enjoyed a great day out in
the North West at the annual Relief of Derry celebrations
on Saturday 9th August. The clubs from Lisburn, Broomhedge,
Hillsborough, Aghalee and Dunmurry Branches braved early
morning showers during a short parade of their area before
boarding buses for the trip to Londonderry. Once in the
Maiden City the local clubs and bands joined in one of the
biggest parades of Northern Irelands summer season when
around 15,000 Apprentice Boys and spectators accompanied by
about 120 bands marched through the city.
