Wallace students enjoying their flight on the London Eye during the recent Sixth Form trip.

WALLACE High School Lower Sixth pupils have recently returned from a busy but enjoyable two days in London.

Twenty seven pupils, accompanied by teachers Julie Dumigan, Gillian McGarry and Paul Beaton, went first to Westminster where four lucky students were able to attend Prime Minister's Questions.

The rest of the group � now joined by April McGarry and Stuart Fleming who had spent a week's work experience at The Wallace Collection - were given a guided tour of The House of Lords before making their way to the Lloyd George Committee room for a meeting with a number of MPs, both local and national.

The Lisburn students, many of whom are studying Government and Politics at A Level, asked questions covering such diverse topics as Europe, Education in NI and the environment.

Thanks must go to local MP Jeffrey Donaldson for his support in organising the visit.

Following lunch in Westminster the Wallace group enjoyed a 'flight' on the London Eye before heading to Knightsbridge for the Harrods Experience. Wednesday evening was spent at the Dominium Theatre watching the Ben Elton musical based on Queen's music, 'We Will RockYou!'.

The second day started with a backstage lour of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the group were also fortunate to be part of a final rehearsal for 'A Midsummer's Night's Dream.

Lunch was in The Wallace Collection in Hertford House, the London base of Sir Richard Wallace, before meeting Jeremy Warren and other curators of the Collection.

A private tour of the archives and an interactive armoury workshop were also very enjoyable.

The trip concluded with some shopping along Oxford Street.
